How to clean the liver with beets - cleaning the organ at home

“We are what we eat” - Hippocrates.

Is everyone familiar with this phrase?

I think everyone knows this cool expression. And the trouble is that, for the most part, because of what we eat, our body’s main filter, the liver, suffers.

But the joy is that this organ can be restored. But how to do this simply, how to cleanse the liver at home, how to help it?

Let's talk about everything in order...

In general, it’s sad when we begin to suffer from excess weight, diabetes, cancer just because of nutrition and we don’t know it ourselves! ... (“People die from ignorance” - it’s even written in the Bible) ...

Therefore, I invite you to know a lot more about yourself today...

The liver is, of course, the main filter of our body. Just look at that list of features below. Peoples' Friendship University of Russia made an excellent list:

  • metabolic (regulates the metabolism of proteins and amino acids, lipids, carbohydrates and biologically active substances (hormones, vitamins), microelements. The liver is involved in the regulation of water metabolism).
  • depositing (accumulation of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, hormones, vitamins and minerals occurs in the liver).
  • secretory (formation of bile, which is an important way of removing a number of substances converted in the liver from the plasma and is involved in digestion by emulsifying fats).
  • detoxification (biological filter of the liver - hepatic macrophages - Kupffer cells forming slightly toxic ester-sulfuric acids, which are then excreted into the intestines)
  • excretory (toxic compounds indole, skatole, tyramine combine in the liver with sulfuric and glucuronic acids)
  • homeostatic (the liver is involved in the regulation of metabolic, antigenic homeostasis of the body).

This is a real housewife in our body! It seems to me that since she looks after us so much, then we are obliged to look after her in the same way.

Signs of liver blockage and possible consequences

The human liver pumps blood through itself and cleanses it of harmful substances that enter the body from outside. In parallel, this organ produces an important digestive enzyme - bile. A normally functioning liver produces 1-1.5 liters of bile per day, which enters the duodenum and is involved in digestion.

An unhealthy lifestyle, “wrong” food, and a polluted environment lead to disruption of bile production. A deficiency or impaired outflow of this enzyme leads to increased stress on the liver. Clogging of an organ with toxins leads to disruption of its functioning, which subsequently affects the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract and the entire body.

The first signs that the liver needs cleansing are heaviness in the right side . Such sensations appear when the bile ducts are blocked. In addition, spider veins, age spots, and itching appear on the skin. An additional symptom is constant nausea and belching. A characteristic symptom of liver and gallbladder dysfunction is the appearance of a bitter taste in the mouth.

Ineffective liver function affects your overall well-being. A person experiences yellowing of the skin and eyeballs, frequent headaches, constipation, a feeling of bloating and seething in the intestines. The presence of 3-4 of these signs is a signal of the need for liver cleansing.

Important! Ignoring signs of liver blockage leads to intoxication of the body. Poor functioning of the gastrointestinal tract leads to blockage of blood vessels with cholesterol plaques, accumulation of bile in the liver and bile ducts.

Benefits of beets for the liver

Red beets are a storehouse of vitamins, minerals and fiber, and therefore can have a beneficial effect on many organs. The high iron content in vegetables helps prevent anemia. Vitamins and microelements help improve immunity. Beets are especially useful for normalizing the functioning of the liver, gall bladder and intestines:

  1. Fiber and organo-acids stimulate intestinal peristalsis, so cleansing the body with red beets begins with the intestines.
  2. Pectins adsorb and remove toxins from the intestines.
  3. Fiber helps food pass through the intestines;
  4. Betaine normalizes the process of protein breakdown, which promotes their rapid absorption. Doctors recommend combining meat with red beets on the menu for better protein digestion.
  5. Bioflavonoids relax the walls of the bile ducts, which helps cleanse them.
  6. Freshly squeezed beet juice has an antioxidant effect on liver cells and, if taken in accordance with the rules, can dissolve stones formed in it.

Beet juice

Scientists have no doubt about the healing properties of beets. Therefore, medicines have been created based on this vegetable. But no medicine can compare with a natural product, which is absorbed and acts on the body much better than chemicals.

Properties of beet juice

The healing properties of the vegetable were known back in the era of Hippocrates and were widely used in the treatment of anemia, hyperthermia, infectious diseases and pathologies of the digestive tract. The maximum therapeutic effect can be obtained by using a dark burgundy vegetable, cylindrical in shape and without whitish veins.

100 g of juice contains 60 calories, as well as a huge amount of useful elements:

  • vitamins A, C, E, group B, PP (nicotinic acid);
  • glucose;
  • acetylcholine, necessary for conducting impulses along nerve fibers;
  • oxalic, malic acids;
  • minerals (potassium, magnesium);
  • sucrose;
  • fructose;

Thanks to its complex composition, the vegetable has a positive effect on many body systems and gives vitality to a person. Rarely found cobalt is needed for the synthesis of vitamin B12 by intestinal microflora, which is necessary for the nervous system and, together with PP, is involved in the formation of new red blood cells.

Beetroot juice contains fiber and pectin, which has a destructive effect on pathogenic bacteria in the intestines, and also accelerates the removal of toxins from the body. In addition, they are involved in the formation of glycogen, which is stored in the liver as an energy reserve.

Thus, fresh beet juice:

  1. promotes erythropoiesis, that is, the formation of red blood cells, thereby eliminating anemia;
  2. cleanses the hepatobiliary tract (liver, bladder, bile ducts);
  3. has an anti-inflammatory effect;
  4. improves the functioning of the lymphatic system;
  5. increases immune defense and resistance to infections;
  6. promotes recovery after heavy physical labor;
  7. improves metabolic processes;
  8. gives freshness to the skin;
  9. has a laxative, antispasmodic effect;
  10. stimulates cellular regeneration;
  11. lowers blood pressure. Beets contain natural nitrates, which are transformed into nitric oxide. The latter substance promotes the dilation of veins, as a result of which blood supply to the myocardium improves and blood pressure normalizes;
  12. strengthens the vascular wall;
  13. prevents stone formation in the biliary tract;
  14. improves visual function;
  15. promotes weight loss;
  16. Beetroot juice for liver diseases helps cleanse the organ and normalize metabolism. This is ensured thanks to B4. In turn, betaine prevents the accumulation of lipids in hepatocytes (liver cells) and the development of steatosis;
  17. improves memory and brain function by stimulating blood flow;
  18. boron is important for the osteoarticular system;
  19. accelerates the elimination of “bad” cholesterol, thereby preventing the formation of plaques on the walls of blood vessels and their atherosclerotic damage;
  20. normalizes the psycho-emotional state due to the presence of lithium. The person becomes less irritable, internal fear and anxiety are suppressed, and stress resistance increases;
  21. has antitumor and antioxidant effects.

As for boiled root vegetables, they are inferior to fresh ones in terms of the amount of vitamins that are destroyed under the influence of temperature. In beet tops, the content of some substances is several times higher, namely folic acid, iron, calcium, and phosphorus.

The leaves are widely used in the treatment of ulcerative lesions and inflammation of the mucous membrane of the digestive tract, which is provided by vitamin U, which has regenerative and analgesic properties.

Note that fresh beet juice can only be drunk two hours after preparation. This is necessary to evaporate harmful compounds and prevent poisoning.

Possible contraindications to the use of the technique

Natural products rarely cause harm to the human body, but for some diseases, cleansing the body with beets is contraindicated. The method is not recommended for use in the presence of the following pathologies:

  • hypotension – beets will further reduce the patient’s blood pressure;
  • increased stomach acidity – eating beets will increase the amount of acid;
  • diabetes mellitus - due to the increased sugar content in vegetables;
  • tendency to diarrhea - beets have a laxative effect;
  • Osteoporosis - the vegetable can interfere with the body's absorption of calcium.

Cleansing the liver with beets can be harmful during infectious diseases. Experts do not recommend using the method after severe stress, physical activity, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Carefully! Before using any cleaning procedure, you must undergo an ultrasound. Cleaning is absolutely contraindicated if gallstones are found. Stimulating the outflow of bile will lead to blockage of the bile ducts!

Cleaning rules and methods

Cleaning the liver at home with beets will give the desired effect only if used correctly.

Preparatory process:

The beet cleanse procedure is a serious test for the intestines and the whole body, so preparation should begin in advance. A week before the planned process, you should switch to a plant-based diet: exclude smoked, salted, meat products, baked goods, and sweets from the menu.

During the period of preparation for cleaning, the diet should consist of seasonal vegetables, cereals with the addition of sprouted wheat grains. It is useful to eat salads made from grated carrots, beets, with the addition of dried apricots, seasoned with vegetable oil, lemon and cranberry juice. To add piquancy and improve the digestion process, you can add honey to the salad.

Beet and carrot salad

The day before the procedure must be spent on apples and juice from them. On the day of the procedure, you can only eat vegetables and fruits.

Please note! Doctors do not recommend cleansing in the fall, since at this time of year the liver is most vulnerable. The most favorable time is mid-spring.

Decoction

Homemade recipe:

  • several peeled raw medium-sized vegetables are placed in a pan with 3 liters of water;
  • the broth is boiled down to 1 liter of water in the remainder;
  • vegetables are taken out and after 10 minutes they are grated (the water is not poured out);
  • the resulting slurry is poured back into the pan and brought to a boil;
  • the broth is cooked for 20 minutes.

The finished drink should be drunk in an amount of 200 ml immediately after preparation. Subsequent portions (200 ml) are taken every 3-4 hours. Treatment with a decoction is allowed 1-2 times a year.

Cleaning methods and recipes

For the procedure, beets are used in fresh and boiled form. The cleaning course is carried out once or twice a year, not more often. The duration of the course depends on the specific method.

Beet juice

The easiest way to cleanse is to drink beet juice for four days. The first two days it is mixed with carrot and cucumber. For the procedure, you need to prepare beet juice, mix it with cucumber and carrot juice in a ratio of 3:1:1.

Such a “cocktail” will additionally fill the body with vitamins and minerals. Take it half a liter per day. The total volume is divided by 2-3 times. On the third and fourth days, you need to drink beetroot juice, diluted with apple juice in a ratio of 2:1.

Beet kvass

You can prepare a beet drink to cleanse the body by infusing the juice from a large vegetable or three small ones. The root vegetables, thoroughly washed with hot water, are cut into small cubes and placed in a three-liter jar. Add 4 tbsp on top. spoons of sugar, 2-3 tbsp. spoons of rye flour or several pieces of dried rye bread. The mixture is poured with 2 liters of water at a temperature of 35-37 degrees.

The jar is covered with gauze and placed in a dark, warm place for fermentation. The drink is stirred several times a day. After 67 days, beet kvass is filtered.

The total volume of kvass per course is 3 liters. But you can’t cook such a quantity at once, otherwise it will turn sour. The cleansing drink is taken 3 times a day, 15 minutes before meals, 125 ml. within 21 days.

Beetroot broth

This method is the most stringent, but at the same time the most effective. Beetroot decoction for cleansing the liver is prepared from a medium-sized root vegetable. It is poured with 3 liters of water and cooked over low heat until 2 liters boils away. The cooked beets are grated on a fine grater and mixed with the broth. The mixture is heated for another 20 minutes so that it does not boil.

Preparing beet broth

Take 200 ml of decoction every 4 hours. After taking each portion, lie on your right side and apply a heating pad to the liver. On the day of cleansing, you can eat porridge without salt and oil, drink only still water without sugar. The technique is designed for 1 day.

Important! Cleaning is carried out on a day off. Frequent urination indicates that the process is going correctly: waste and toxins are removed from the body along with urine.

Drink with kefir

Cleansing the liver with a mixture of beets and fermented milk products will help remove waste and toxins and at the same time get rid of a few extra pounds. To complete the course 2 kg. boiled beets are mixed with 1.5 liters of kefir and 1.5 liters of mineral water.

The resulting volume is consumed throughout the day, combined with low-calorie foods. Cleansing course – 3 days. A similar procedure can be carried out twice a year.

Other recipes

For a gentler cleansing of the body, the following methods are used:

  1. Beet tops. The young tops of the root vegetable are filled with vitamins, so they will not only cleanse the liver, but also increase immunity. A glass of chopped tops is filled with 3 liters of whey. Add 2-3 tablespoons of sugar to the container, cover with gauze and place in a dark, cool place for 2 weeks. The resulting volume is drunk in small doses throughout the day.
  2. Cream soup. For the cleansing procedure, boil beets, carrots, potatoes and cabbage. Then the vegetables are mixed with a mixer. Eat 200 ml 3-4 times a day for 3 days.
  3. Boiled beets. From boiled and finely grated beets, roll into balls the size of a walnut. 14 days before each meal, eat one ball.
  4. Beetroot-lemon juice. 1 medium-sized beet is kept in a water bath for 30 minutes. Then rub, squeeze out the juice and dilute it with water (1:1). Add 1-2 tbsp to the resulting volume. spoons of lemon juice. The drink is taken twice a day, starting with 1 teaspoon. With normal tolerance, the volume of the drink per dose is adjusted to 100 ml. Cleaning course – 14 days.

Beets cleanse the liver gently and delicately, while simultaneously saturating the body with vitamins and minerals that accelerate tissue regeneration and stabilize the gastrointestinal tract and biliary tract.
